Many Web3 users check in, mine, and promote projects every day.
But they may overlook an important gap in many whitepapers:
The project does not clearly explain when rewards become final or when users will receive them.
This lack of clarity creates two direct risks.
1. POINTS MAY REMAIN LOCKED FOR YEARS
Without a regular settlement schedule, the balance shown in an application is still an internal record. It is not yet a confirmed asset in the user’s wallet.
Users do not know when their points will be checked, confirmed, converted, and transferred.
A promise without a clear deadline can become an endless delay.
2. REFERRAL REWARDS MAY BE REMOVED UNFAIRLY
Many projects do not clearly answer an important question:
If a person you invited later becomes inactive or does not pass KYC, will the project remove the valid referral rewards that you earned before that time?
Projects have the right to remove rewards connected to fake accounts, fraud, or invalid activity.
But an inviter should not lose all valid rewards only because a real user becomes inactive later.
The inviter used time, reputation, and content to bring that person to the project.
If the user leaves because the application is no longer attractive, the inviter should not be punished for the project’s failure to retain that user.
THE KYCFIRST STANDARD
A project that respects its users should not leave a reward gap.
✅ Verify eligible new users within 30 days
Detect fraud early. Do not allow KYC applications to remain pending for years.
✅ Finalize and pay rewards every month
Publish the calculation period, confirmation date, payment date, and clear on-chain payment records.
✅ Protect valid rewards
Do not use new rules to remove points or cancel valid work completed under earlier published conditions.
Do not work for years only to collect points with no confirmation date.
Ask every project to publish a clear and transparent reward schedule.
VERIFY EARLY.
PAY REWARDS MONTHLY.
PROTECT VALID WORK.
KYC FIRST. REWARD FIRST. FAIRNESS FIRST.
