DOGECOIN ADDS 5.26 BILLION COINS EVERY YEAR. WHY DOES ITS INFLATION RATE KEEP FALLING?

Dogecoin has no hard supply cap and adds approximately 5.26 billion DOGE every year. But because annual issuance remains relatively fixed while total supply grows, its percentage inflation rate continues to fall.

DOGECOIN ADDS 5.26 BILLION COINS EVERY YEAR. WHY DOES ITS INFLATION RATE KEEP FALLING?

Many crypto projects treat inflation as their greatest threat.

They burn tokens.

They lock supply.

They delay mainnet.

Some Mobile Mining projects even delay KYC and user rewards for years in the name of “protecting the ecosystem.”

Dogecoin chose another path.

It creates approximately 5.26 billion new DOGE every year.

No hard supply cap.

No endless token-burning campaign.

No KYC queue preventing miners from receiving newly mined coins.

Yet Dogecoin has survived since 2013 and remains one of the world’s largest cryptocurrencies.

FROM A JOKE TO A GLOBAL CRYPTOCURRENCY

Dogecoin was launched on December 6, 2013, by Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer.

It began as a joke based on the famous Shiba Inu meme. Its friendly image, low transaction costs and active community quickly attracted users.

Dogecoin became popular for online tipping and charitable campaigns. In 2014, its community helped support the Jamaican bobsled team and clean-water projects in Kenya.

The joke developed real history, global liquidity and a powerful community.

THE ORIGINAL 100-BILLION PLAN

Dogecoin did not begin with 100 billion coins already in circulation.

Approximately 100 billion DOGE was the original supply target. The coins entered circulation through mining.

In 2014, the project chose not to enforce a hard supply cap.

After block 600,000, the permanent mining reward became 10,000 DOGE per block.

With a target block time of approximately one minute, this produces around 5.26 billion new DOGE each year.

By October 2026, Dogecoin’s circulating supply had reached approximately 156.15 billion DOGE.

DOGECOIN HAS INFLATION, BUT THE RATE KEEPS FALLING

The annual number of new coins remains relatively stable while the total supply becomes larger.

At 100 billion DOGE, annual issuance equals about 5.26%.

At 156.15 billion DOGE, it equals about 3.37%.

At 200 billion DOGE, it will equal about 2.63%.

At 300 billion DOGE, it will equal about 1.75%.

Dogecoin is inflationary in absolute numbers, but its percentage inflation declines over time.

WHY DOES DOGECOIN NOT NEED REGULAR TOKEN BURNS?

First, its issuance rule is public and predictable.

Second, new DOGE rewards miners who provide computing power and protect the network.

Third, real value depends on users, liquidity, recognition, utility and demand—not scarcity alone.

Fourth, burning tokens does not automatically create demand, build products or improve trust.

Some projects burn tokens because they created too much supply at the beginning.

Others use burning as part of their fee system.

Some mainly use token burns as a marketing story.

THE LESSON FOR MOBILE MINING

Dogecoin and Mobile Mining use different systems.

But Dogecoin proves one important point:

Inflation does not justify delaying KYC or withholding completed user rewards.

A project cannot create trust by displaying a smaller supply while keeping user rewards locked for years.

Withholding earned rewards is not inflation control.

Burning tokens is not a replacement for demand.

Scarcity without fairness does not build a lasting community.

VERIFY EARLY.

PAY REWARDS MONTHLY.

PROTECT VALID WORK.

KYC FIRST. REWARD FIRST. FAIRNESS FIRST.

Figures are approximate as of October 2, 2026. DOGE supply changes continuously as new blocks are mined.
